Strawberry’s New Tony Kart Dominates Again!
7th March 2007

Strawberry’s Cadet Works driver Andy King dominated PF International circuit again at the weekend in a strong National grid of WTP drivers. With an adverse change in weather conditions for the final on Sunday consisting of 12 laps, a wet set up was readied for King to take his grid position, this was to be King’s first “wet” race in the new 2007 Tony Kart chassis and with the rest of the Strawberry team at Clay it was left to King and his dad along with technical support via the team principal Warwick by telephone to make the necessary changes.

King gained the best start possible and led the 20 strong pack into the first hairpin and simply continued to outstretch his lead to take the chequered flag some 3 seconds ahead of the 2nd place man, King was fastest on each lap and took the best lap time of the final along the way. King commented afterwards that the kart was perfect and the speed he was able to carry through the corners in what was very tricky conditions was a testament to both kart and driver, he also stated that he was able to brake even later that he was able to in dry conditions !

This brings King’s tally since being signed by Strawberry to five wins from six and a second place as well as setting three fastest lap times in the finals.

George Line (pictured) also went from strength to strength and drove a faultless race to finish 3rd, his best result so far and after only having his new 2007 Tony Kart for 2 weeks.
