Strawberry continues perfect start to year

New Junior Max signing Josh Webster got off to a perfect start with Strawberry by winning both his heats and the main final at PFi last Sunday (1 March).
Team Manager Warwick Ringham said, “I’m delighted. It’s great to win your first race with a new team - it’s something every driver wants to do and Josh did it in great style.”
Josh won his first heat by over seven seconds, setting the fastest lap on the way.
In his following race, he came through from 14th on the grid to take another superb win and seal pole for the final.
In a close-fought race, the 15-old from Stowmarket in Suffolk held off a strong challenge throughout the 12-lap final to take the win and complete a perfect debut.
Warwick again, “Josh has adapted well to the new kart and to the team. He listens, learns and does exactly what he’s told. You’re always under a lot of pressure to perform in your first race, but he drove impeccably well. He’s set a standard now, which we’ll all have to match. I wouldn’t have taken him on if I didn’t think we could achieve top three in the Super 1 Championship. After his performance at PF, I’m all the more confident.”
